How often and how much is it for services after the installation?
We recommend getting your car services every 20,000 kilometers. The costs is roughly the same as a mechanical service.
How long does it take for the conversion?
One and a half days to two days. The reason for this is we don’t want our mechanics rushing to get the job out at the end of the day. Give them as much time as possible to do the perfect conversion.
Where will the filler be located?
The filler can be located wherever the customer wants it. In most cases it can fit in the same hatch as the petrol filler. If not we do our best to hide it to keep your car looking as good as possible.
Can I put my vehicle on straight gas?
Yes, I can get you a quote but at the moment with the industry being so busy wa are actually recommending that you run on dual fuel. You will be looking at a wait of 3 months for straight gas.
Can I swap over to the gas while driving?
Certainly can. Our system starts on petrol for 3 seconds and then will automatically switch over if you are running on gas. Otherwise a switch is in the drivers compartment and is very easy to switch between fuels.
Can I drive around Australia in an LPG auto gas car?
Yes you can.according to LPG Australia there are over 3200 also gas outlets across Australia. LPG is now found that about 45% of service stations. Many of these outlets are in regional and raw areas, not just in the cities. So whether you’re driving around town, driving in the country, or driving from state to state you’ll have no problem filling up.
How safe are the LPG auto gas systems?
Every aspect of the LPG industry is covered by a national standard or national code as well as additional state regulations. In fact the LPG industry in Australia is leading the world in safety not just in installation but also in the storage and handling of LPG equipment.
LPG has been safely used in Australia so many decades now and the LPG system used in today’s vehicles is incredibly safe not only while in use, but also during repairs and even – should the worst happen – in an accident.

What environmental benefits are there to converting to LPG?
LPG is a cleaner-burning fuel than petrol which means pollutants (such as greenhouse gases) are significantly reduced in LPG cars. Typical figures for comparison of vehicles running on Autogas LPG fuel to Petrol are:
* lower greenhouse gas emissions
* less ozone – one of the causes of smog
* A cleaner refuelling process as no vapours can escape due to the fully sealed system used
* A significant reduction in particulate emissions compared to petrol & especially Diesel engines
* Minimal sulphur dioxide emissions (a major cause of acid rain)
How is LPG also gas different to my BBQ gas?
There are two separate grades of LPG which cannot be swapped or mixed. The LPG used in cars is a mixture of propane and butane.
One of the other benefits to my engine of using LPG?
As well as being much cheaper than unleaded petrol, just as safe, and better to the environment, LPG offers the performance and fuel economy of the average modern car.
Because LPG is a cleaner burning fuel than petrol it doesn’t leave any carbon deposits behind. This means less engine wear on your car and a longer life through your engine. LPG also offers a few maintenance advantages:
* A longer life through your exhaust
* Cleaner spark plugs and no sludge formation
* Fewer oil and oil filter changes
Why is LPG so much cheaper than petrol?
LPG auto gas is excise free in Australia. This means it’s generally about a third of the price of unleaded petrol.
Of course, like petrol the cost per litre will fluctuate in-line with global supply and demand, however the government has made clear that this cleaner and greener alternative to petrol will always be cheaper.
How much rebate can get from the government?
That depends on whether you want a new vehicle or if you want to convert an existing vehicle.
If you convert your existing vehicle, you can claim up to $1750 back from the government. EzyGas can provide assistance with the Federal government grant.
If you’re looking to purchase a new vehicle fitted with an LPG unit at the time of manufacture, the government grant is $1000.
How much will I save by converting my car to LPG?
Obviously this depends on how many kilometers you drive in an average year. Typically we’ve found that our customers save the cost of their conversion during the first 18 months. Given the rapidly rising price of petrol, it’s probably safe to assume that the savings of LPG conversion will only increase.
How much difference will LPG make to my fuel consumption?
The amount of fuel that your views with LPG will increase as LPG has a lower energy value than petrol. However because of the rising price of petrol, this slight increase in consumption is more than offset by the savings that you’ll make.
How much will conversion affect the performance of my car?
In short, very little! The modern technology used to convert cast LPG gas is much better than it was just a few years ago. This means that your only experience a very small drop in performance and usually only at high revs. Given that most driving around the city these days is fairly stop start, you may find that the talk provided by LPG gas actually aids drive ability.
